Over the years, we've tried several pizza crusts, you can find them in our earlier posts. But lately, this has been the one we've been using. There's less cheese involved, a little more protein via the egg white powder. It's not a high protein crust, but a little more moderate fat than we used to eat.
All the credit goes to Low Carb Spin on YouTube. I skipped several of their steps to make it easier, and to get the crust a little thinner, but those ladies are amazing. Go check them out!
Preheat oven
to 400.
Mix and let
stand to bloom:
2 Tblsp warm water, 1 tsp tomato paste, 1 package active dry yeast
Combine
together:
4 oz softened cream cheese or goat cheese
4 Tblsp unflavored Greek yogurt
2 eggs
3 TBlsp grated parmesan cheese
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp baking powder
½ tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp garlic salt
1 Tblsp gelatin
Once mixed
together, add yeast to the mixture and about 4 Tblsp egg white powder til
thickened to consistency of pizza dough.
Line pizza
pan with parchment, spread out the dough.
Bake about 15 minutes til golden brown.
Take it out of the oven, add toppings, then bake another 15 minutes til bubbly
and the crust is thoroughly cooked through.
